Gaming is easily one of my
favorite pass-time activities. I've been playing games for as long
as I can remember, starting out with Mario and Duck Hunt. Games
have come a long way though, and with these new advances, I have
usually followed. Though my first games were console, around 75%
of my gaming now consists of online activity.
Console gaming in my opinion
is dying. Every single one of the consoles are slowly changing into
computers which sucks. Why pay $300+ for a console that can only
play games they put out when you can get a computer that does so
much more for maybe double that price, which isn't bad considering
what you can do with them. Computer games also have a lot better
graphics, can play with people online (you can do this with some
consoles now too, but you gotta buy extra shit to do so), and usually
many many different ways to play them. You can also tack on mods
(not to be confused with expansions) for free. Another bad thing
about console games is how the level of difficulty has dropped over
the years. Whats a game for if you can't expect a good challenge?
Anywho, for a little bit of
my gaming history. Started out with NES, Super NES, Playstation
and 64. Right around the Playstation is when my transfer to the
online world began. My neighbor and I played Quake: TF all the time,
owned it up too. Quake died out for me after Half Life was released
with TFC. Same thing, just better graphics. I played for quite awhile,
was invovled in OGL 5vs5 ladder and 1vs1 Soldier ladder. I was mostly
a medic (with crazy conc skills), but had some skill in the Soldier
arena also. During this time I played Archmage a lot (too much).
Was in a few clans in there, and became pretty well known. Went
through several clan wars, mostly being the #1 enemy on their hit
lists and still remaining alive :). After Archmage died and TFC
got old, I went to Diablo II: LoD. During the time I played this
game hacks were a huge thing. Bob and I enjoyed creating legit characteres
for the sole purpose of owning hackers, and it worked like a charm
too. Him and I were nearly undefeatable, but when it came down to
the ebayers, we had to bust out our own "hacked backups".
Then we owned them and went back to our legits ^-^. We played this
game too much, but because of that we had a massive amount of experience
in gameplay and all the items you could possibly find. After years
of playing, D2 finally died out and I started playing Counter-Strike,
which I still do so today, along with Battlefield: Vietnam and Half-Life:
Natural Selection.
